before you come
the usual questions.
do i need to know how to play?
no. that's genuinely the point. we'll walk you through the basics on the spot and you'll be pushing pieces within minutes.
what does it cost?
pay what you want. there's a suggested ten bucks or so to help cover boards and snacks, but nobody's ever turned away over money.
do i need to bring anything?
nope. boards, pieces, and snacks are on us. bring yourself, and maybe a friend.
do i have to sign up or be a member?
no signups, no membership, no commitment. just show up. we post where and when on instagram.
is it for all levels?
yes. total beginners and lifelong players share the same room. one table to learn, one to play, and you hop between them.
can i just watch?
totally. plenty of people come to talk, watch a game, and hang out. chess is the excuse.
